Hyeheon Yoo
Biography & Career

Hyeheon Yoo was born in 1997 in Seoul, South Korea. After graduating from Sunhwa Arts Middle School and with honours from Sunhwa Arts High School, she earned a bachelor’s degree at Seoul National University under Professor Aviram Reichert. While studying for her master’s degree at SNU, she moved to Germany and is currently completing her master’s degree at Hochschule für Musik und Theater ‘Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy’ Leipzig in Germany under Professor Christian A. Pohl. Hyeheon has partaken in several masterclasses given by pianists such as Emanuel Krasovsky, Yaron Rosenthal and Niklas Pokki.
Hyeheon has won numerous awards in competitions including at Sunhwa Chamber Music Competition, Han-eum Music Competition, Music Education News Concours, Korea-Asia Open Piano Competition, and Gimpo Philharmonic Orchestra Competition.
Hyeheon has performed in various concert series and venues including the Yeon-cheon DMZ International Music Festival ‘Rising-Star’ concert, the Tel-Hai International Piano Master Classes Gala Concert at Tel Aviv Museum of Art, the SNU Young Pianists Series, the Young Master Pianists of HMT Leipzig (at Steingraeber piano factory in Bayreuth), the Bechstein Young Professionals, the Musikalische Soiree in Leipzig and many more. She was also a recipient of the Deutschlandstipendium (German public-private scholarship).
